Joanna went for her 6 month check up on May 3rd. Thankfully, she is healthy and got a good report. She was 15 lb 14 oz and 26 1/2 inches long. Basically, she has grown 7 inches and has gained 7 lbs since her birthday. Wow! My arm can definitely feel the difference when I'm carrying her! She is in the 75th percentile for height and between the 25th and 50th for weight. Might be tall like her daddy. She is now rolling over very proficiently, and in fact, has started sleeping on her tummy most nights. I still put her down on her back, but when I return to check on her before I go to bed, she is almost always on her tummy. She's still such a happy baby and is a joy to be around. I've noticed her watching other kids more and she usually smiles and laughs when Tensy walks by. She's definitely starting to study her surroundings more. She loves bath time and usually squeals and wiggles in our arms when we start the water. It's pretty cute! She does the same thing when we open the door to go outside. We waited until after her appointment to start solids because I had a million questions, but so far so good. So far, she's had prunes, avocado, apples, peas, pears, sweet potato, carrots and bananas. We tried broccoli but I'm going to give her little tummy a couple more months before we try that again. I've made everything for her with the exception of apples and carrots. Her favorite by far is avocado and banana mashed up together, which is actually pretty good! Little girl is also starting to sit up by herself. She's a little wobbly but has more recently done a good job of correcting herself when she starts to topple.
Pictures!
This is the mobile I finally got around to making for her room. It doesn't spin but she seems to like looking at it when she's in the crib. I made it by covering styrofoam balls with yarn and fabric and hanging them from an embroidery hoop covered with fabric. I think it turned out pretty cute!
Sitting up like a big girl!!
If all goes according to plan, I should have some 7 month pictures up this weekend!
